DRYING AND GRANULATION
The drying process is performed through the combined action of indirect heat exchange (conduction through the walls of the machine) and direct heat exchange (convection between the process air and the product inside the machine).
One of the special characteristics of VOMM plants is the possibility of changing the product's residence time inside the machine and the relevant process temperature, allowing treatment of any type of product, including the most heat-labile such as amino-acids, vitamins and pharmaceutical active substances.
VOMM dryers are capable of continuous treatment of any type of incoming product (solid, liquid or semi-solid), regardless of its rheological and thermal properties and the type of solvent (aqueous or alcoholic/aromatic).
The VOMM Turbo Reactor can be used for the continuous crystallisation of saturated liquids or anhydrous fluids.
The cooling fluid in the machine's outer jacket and crystal formation can be oriented to suit the process parameters and with the use of specific seed (as in the case of sorbitol).
REACTIONS AND MIXING PROCESSES
The VOMM Turbo Reactor is a continuous device which combines high thin film flow turbulence induced in the product with controlled heat exchange, for synthesising new products or mixing complex components.
The reagents are continually fed into the machine by high precision dosing devices and the reaction takes place under constant control, with monitoring and modification of all reaction parameters.
One innovative application of VOMM Turbo Technology is the possibility of concentrating a diluted or even already pre-concentrated solution, or actually a semi-solid solution, to obtain an end product with very high viscosity, difficult to achieve with conventional processes.
The VOMM Turbo Concentrator is able to deliver very high concentration levels since the product reacts in a high turbulence thin film flow, allowing very high heat exchange efficiency.
The VOMM Technology is able to achieve higher degrees of concentration than other technologies, and can process any product, with no viscosity limits.
